Getting up to speed!

Warp speed is now under development. Some initial database entries have been prepopulated, some game database pages have been setup and the initial concept tables have been started for ship design and management. The amount of data going into this game is absolutely mindblowing! To give you an idea, the game will focus initially on travelling and upgrading with combat to follow in an update a long way down the road. I have prepared some questions that you might ask at this really early pre early access stage. When can I play it? When I have completed the initial scripting to get the game going. This might sound simple but I have to provision for features I will be adding at this early stage as they are all crucial to how the game plays! Can I help? Yes, I will need artwork... lots of artwork... Also, item suggestions, names of things and many other bits and pieces. Without it, it will just take longer! What specs will I need? The Warp Speed Project - Introduction

Welcome The warp speed project is a browser based game project I am intending to create. I have some initial code samples ready and raring to go as and when I find the time to "break ground". So what is it? I am a bit of a star trek fan so it will be based on some of the star trek concepts and ideas specifically relating to travelling through space. I am aware there is Star Trek Online which I will be extremely careful not to rip off in any way at all, in the least, the game concept will not involve flashy graphics, well, at least none really at this stage. The idea is more of a build and upgrade your own starship and travel the galaxy with it. That's kind of it! There's a lot more to it than that and I will detail more in further Blogs as and when I have things running.
