Warp speed is now under development. Some initial database entries have been prepopulated, some game database pages have been setup and the initial concept tables have been started for ship design and management. The amount of data going into this game is absolutely mindblowing!
To give you an idea, the game will focus initially on travelling and upgrading with combat to follow in an update a long way down the road.
I have prepared some questions that you might ask at this really early pre early access stage.
When can I play it?
When I have completed the initial scripting to get the game going. This might sound simple but I have to provision for features I will be adding at this early stage as they are all crucial to how the game plays!
Can I help?
Yes, I will need artwork... lots of artwork... Also, item suggestions, names of things and many other bits and pieces. Without it, it will just take longer!
What specs will I need?
Its going to be website based, so I guess as long as you can use the internet, thats all you will require. If I make anything specific which requires something special, I will announce it.
Can you reveal anything more about this project?
Yes, in time. The simplest description at this stage is an mmo crossbreed.
Will there be a learning curve?
Yes, but it should be pretty simple to pickup. I plan on making ships with very very large numbers of features. For example: A ship may choose to add shields and then choose the defensive nature of the shields, such as a frequency set, such as multiphasic or rotational which will go between various frequencies. I will extend this to tractor beam frequencies and anything else which can be external facing.
This might be too complex?
Maybe, but if you can work out Crusader Kings II or Eve Online, I'm sure this will be fine!
